Membership and Dues

Section 1: Application for membership must be made in writing. Applicant to state name, age, address, and application must be signed by an Active member of this organization. The Board of Directors is allowed to limit the number of members in the club.

Section 2: All applications to be referred to the Board of Directors and House Committee, whose duty it shall be to inquire into the fitness of the applicant The applicant shall be balloted at the Board of Directors & House Committee meeting on the first (1st) Tuesday of each month and taken to the General Stated Meeting on the second (2nd) Tuesday of each month and balloted for the second (2nd) time, applicant shall be declared elected. If applicant be rejected, application fee and dues shall be returned to applicant promptly.

Section 3: There shall be four classes of membership. Active Beneficial, Active Non-Beneficial, Associate, and Life.

Section 4: The current initiation fee for joining the Cetronia Fire Co #1 shall be twelve dollars ($12.00) for the first year. Dues shall be six ($6.00) dollars for Active Beneficial membership and five ($5.00) dollars for Active Non-Beneficial membership thereafter. If maybe changed by a majority vote at a general meeting as requested by the Board of Directors and House Committee.

Section 5: Any citizen of the United States who is twenty-one (21) years of age and has not attained his forty-sixth (46th) birthday shall be eligible to apply for Active Beneficial membership.

Section 6: Any citizen of the United States who has attained his 46th birthday shall be eligible to apply for Active Non-Beneficial membership

Section 7: Any female citizen of the United States who is twenty-one years of age or over and a member in good standing of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Cetronia Fire Company No. 1 shall be eligible to apply for Associate membership. Females wishing to obtain all Fire Company privileges can do so by application for membership under ARTICLE VI, Section 4, 5, & 6. Dues for Associate membership shall be Two Dollars and Fifty Cents per year, payable annually in advance, with the provision that their good standing in the Ladies Auxiliary organization is maintained.

Section 8: All members present except Associate members shall have the right to vote at all meetings.

Section 9: Any member expelled or dropped from the rolls wishing to become a member thereafter must make application, pay the fees and dues and be duly elected in the same manner as any new member

Section 10: Dues in this organization shall run from the first of January to the 31st of December of each current year.

Section 11: The annual dues of all members must be paid to the Financial Secretary on or before the 28th day of February of each current year. Any individual member failing to pay his dues on or before said date shall automatically be dropped as a member for nonpayment of dues.

Section 12: Life membership may be extended to any member of the Cetronia Fire Company No. 1 who has attained 35 years of continuous membership. The member being nominated for life membership must first be proposed to the Board of Directors and the House Committee. Upon the approval of the Board of Directors and the House Committee said member shall be nominated for life membership at a stated meeting of the Cetronia Fire Company No. 1. A vote of the membership present at the next stated meeting shall determine whether or not said member shall be approved for life membership.

Section 13: The Cetronia Fire Company No. 1 holding a catering license may sell any liquor or malt or brewed beverages to any person who is an active fire fighter of any volunteer fire fighting company and have the same rights and privileges as members of such licensed club. The term "active " fire fighter shall not include a social member.

Lady Associate (Must belong to the Auxiliary) $2.50

2009 Upcoming Events
May 1, 2009 Cinco DeMayo Party 7 – 12. Live Band & Food $15.00 per person. Cash bar, and tickets are available at the bar.
May 2, 2009 Bus trip to Atlantic City
June 12, 2009 Kids Day Out. Make Christmas decorations to hang in the dining room during the Christmas holiday. A sign up sheet will be available in June.
July 25th, 2009 Phillies Baseball Bus Trip. $42.00 per person, and tickets will be available on 3/31/2009 at the bar. Seating is limited.
September 27, 2009 All you can eat Spaghetti Dinner Fund Raiser for the Activities Committee
October 31, 2009 Halloween Party
November 15, 2009 Turkey Meta Drawing. 1 – 5.
December 31, 2009 New Year’s Eve Party


Member Appreciation Picnic

The Certonia Fire Company #1 House Committee and Board of Directors will be hosting a Member Appreciation Picnic on Saturday September 12, 2009! The bar will be closed all day so that everybody can come out and enjoy the picnic!

Watch for signs in the bar - you won't want to miss this!


General Meeting

The stated meeting of this company shall be held on the second Tuesday of each month at 8 o'clock P.M. Nine members in good standing shall constitute a quorum for the transaction of business at any meeting. The 2006 General Meeting schedule is as follows:

Wow 2008…What a Year!!

I realize it’s been hard on all of us and 2009 doesn’t look any better. I have made every effort to keep from raising my prices and for the most part we did a real good job at it! Your support has made this possible and with your continued support we can actually grow in this economy. Smitty’s 1st Anniversary (Just Kidding!), the Halloween Party, etc… We thank you for your support in making Cetronia Fire Company the family social club of the Valley.
